Venture Fund News: Kino Raises $2.5M from Ark Invest, Sequoia, Lightning Capital....

Kino, a Los Angeles, CA-based provider of an interactive digital cinema platform, raised $2.35M in Pre-Seed Extension funding.

The round was led by Cathie Wood’s ARK Venture Fund, with participation from Lightning Capital, Hyperithm, Mindfulness, WAGMI, and others. Previusly, Kino raised a $2M pre-seed round which included Slow Ventures and Sequoia Capital, bringing its total pre-seed raise to more than $4.35M.

The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and development efforts.

Led by CEO Daril Fannin, and COO Austin Worrell, Kino empowers filmmakers and connects fan communities through its interactive, data-driven platform. For filmmakers, its technology offers an interactive social streaming platform, providing data insights and a strategic launchpad to connect with their audience. For fans, it is a hub to discover the latest films and engage with their favorite artists through interactive screenings and behind-the-scenes access.

Recent premieres on Kinp include Cold Meat starring Allen Leech and Nina Bergman, Double Down South, starring Kim Coates and Lili Simmons, and Molli and Max in the Future, starring Zosia Mamet.
